What is similar and different to The River Thames and The Amazon River?

 An interesting lesson taking a tour down the Thames to see why it is important to London and why. Using aerial photos to identify the similarities and differences. Some of the children were not impressed that the Thames provides some of the drinking water for London, even though it has been purified. 

Then, they watched a clip about the Amazon River and how this is used. The children were fascinated with the colour of the water as well as the pink dolphins and piranhas that live there. 

When they had completed their work, they recapped using 4 grid references to find shapes and pictures in a grid.
