Year 4 Blog

 Today we began our new unit of learning, all about Electricity and Electrical Safety. We thought about what we already know, and we realised we already have lots of knowledge between us, including: - electricity can come from plug sockets - switches turn electricity on and off - batteries  can give electricity.  - We can make electricity in factories, by the sun, by waves and in wind turbines - Electricity can be dangerous - Lightning is made when the clouds get charged - it is electricity We look forward to our lesson next week, exploring electrical safety, conductors and insulators.

 This week we completed our models of the digestive system and presented them and our knowledge about each part, back to the class.  We demonstrated excellent scientific vocabulary and were able to explain organs names, structure and function, as well as how each part differed and what its role was within the digestive system.

 Today, Year 4 refreshed their skills of indoor athletics with some sensational speed bouncing and rapid relays. Despite it being nearly a whole year since the last time they did it, all of the children were brilliant and some of them smashed their personal bests. 

In English today we finished our non-chronological reports about the Gorm from our class text, The Legend of Podkin One Ear. The children were really keen to share their reports with you all. I’m sure you’ll agree they’ve done a fantastic job!

 Today year 3 have been designing their own mosaic tiles. They had to come up with two different designs and then choose which one they want to replicate when they use real tiles after half term !!
