French:lesson 3: to conjugate faire and jouer and use du,de la and au

 Year 4 sang their song and revised the names of different sports. They then asked and answered questions about sports, conjugating faire and jouer, using du and de la and au where appropriate.

Using verbs and stationery  which translates, for example, for writing, one will need a pen  The children practiced saying this, changing the verbs and nouns. They then chose appropriate words to fill in.

In English this term we have been writing letters in the style of the ‘howlers’ from Harry Potter. We loved getting the chance to do some telling off, and we were even able to film our howlers with a little bit of ‘magic’ to bring them to life. Author Visit - Peter J Murray

Today, KS2 were treated to a morning with Peter J Murray - author of several books, including the amazing Mokee Joe series.  Pete told us how Mokee Joe came about - a simple game of hide and seek with his children that became more scary! We were introduced to the characters that appear in Mokee Joe - the good, the bad and the ones in between! We discovered the characters of Hudson Brown, Molly and Ashley - who try to bring Mokee Joe down.  The stories were set in different parts around the world and each bringing more adventure, problems and villains with it.   The children were captivated and laughed, clapped, gasped and were in awe of the stories.  They were a credit! Pete said that they were "an amazing audience" and that he would love to come back and work tell them more of his stories!  There is still time to send in some money for books - £5 each / a complete set of 6 for £30 (he has said that there will be no more Mokee Joe's).  Please send any money in to school i
