 Today, year 4 practised numbers and learnt how to use combien and combien de. They then found out a little about the euro and looked at the euro currency and notes. They were amazed to see that there is a €200 note! They then practised pronouncing a sentence structure asking how much a toy is. They then wrote some of their own sentences. 

 Year 4 practised singing their number song and pronouncing numbers 1-39. They then had a go at adding numbers and writing them onto a grid.

 Year 4 practised their numbers song. They then revised using J’aime and Je n’ aime pas to express their opinions about different types of food. We then played a pass the parcel type game, where the children picked a card out of a bag when the music stopped. They then expressed their opinion of the image on the card they had chosen. 

 National Parks are outdoor areas which are protected under Government Acts so they can be enjoyed by the public for free. They are not only green areas but they can also be areas of sea or freshwater. These lovely parks are there to protect both wildlife and their habitats as well as the areas of natural beauty.  During the lesson, the children focussed on The Lake District which is one of the 15 parks in the UK.   

 Today we were visited by the Nation Poo Museum who answered all of our questions around poo - from which is the smelliest poo (a lion - apparently), to which is the largest poo (a blue whale - who poos a red cloud bigger than itself!). We also smelt a Rock Hyrax poo, which is used to make perfume - we though it varied in scent, from clay, to sea water, to smoke, and even flowers! The children practiced their scientific sketching skills and labelled all the bits they could see in poo, including bacteria (under a microscope), bones, rocks, fur and plants!

 Today, Year 4 looked at their jumping technique and how they could improve it. We looked at using our arms to throw ourselves forward and how our heavy head can be used to carry our momentum even further. We also looked at landing in speed bounce and how lightly we need to land in order to improve our score.
