MUSIC - singing

 This afternoon Year 4 had a chance to show off their singing voices! It’s that time of year when we begin to think about celebrating a certain time of year (we’re not allowed to say the word until after half term!)

There were some very brave children who chose to sing alone and some in pairs or small groups. Both classes sang collectively - all showing a talent and enjoyment of singing. A lovely afternoon - well done Year 4.

 Today, Year 4 began to explore how life in Britain changed after the Romans took over. Did you know that Britain was Roman for 300 years? Britain was quite peaceful in this time, and many Celts became Roman citizens. They even spoke Latin! Year 4 learned that the Romans made huge changes in Britain, including building better roads, introducing flushing toilets, and even bringing garlic, celery, and grapes into Britain! Year 4 began to discuss which change they thought was the most important.

In English this term we have been writing letters in the style of the ‘howlers’ from Harry Potter. We loved getting the chance to do some telling off, and we were even able to film our howlers with a little bit of ‘magic’ to bring them to life.
