What is Europe?
This week the children located Europe on a map as well as identifying some of its countries. As a class we discussed the countries some of the children have visited and read about in books or seen in films.
Europe is one of the smallest continents and it is joined to Asia on its eastern edge. The climate varies from the intense cold in the Arctic to the warmth of the Mediterranean.
Once the children had completed the first task they then looked at the capital cities of the countries they had located. Some even found out that Vatican City is the smallest country in Europe.
And a postcard was awarded to one hard working young man.
